Avvenire
"a debut that transforms pain into tenderness, speaks of fear but does not forget humor" - LA RIVISTA DEL CINEMATOGRAFO
PLOT: Denni is a ten-year-old boy living on the Adriatic coast. He's on a mission: to save his mother from his father's physical abuse. Denni is too small to do it alone, and so he decides to hire a professional hit man. He chooses Secco, who is not a criminal at all, but rather a harmless, unemployed father-to-be in need of money.
Denni and Secco's encounter sets off a tragicomic adventure in a buddy movie that forces them to question what it means to be a father, or a son.

DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
Gianluca Santoni, born in 1991 in Fermo, studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. In 2013, he made his directorial debut with the short film Sweet Dreams. Two more shorts followed before his first feature film Io e il Secco .

Regarding his film Io e il Secco , Santoni said: "I wanted to tell the story because Denni, in the end, is a very young man or, better said, a child who must unconsciously decide what man to become." and " it is true that Secco becomes a point of reference for Denni, but it's also true that Secco in some way with Denni understands that he can be a father different than the one he had".
