PLOT:	Liliana is a documentary that gathers Senator-for-life Liliana Segre's testimony of her arrest, deportation, and poignant final farewell to her father. The film is built around the juxtapositions, cross-references, and contrasts between the historical record and a contemporary portrait of one of the most important women on the Italian scene. It highlights lesser-known aspects of the Senator, revealing a modern cultural and political figure who is passionate about conveying a message of freedom and equality to the younger generations.

DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
Ruggero Gabbai, was born in Antwerp in 1964, but grew up in Milan. He graduated with an MFA in film direction from Columbia University. In 1994, he directed the documentary Memoria which was filmed at Auschwitz; he has gone on to direct more than thirty documentaries . Regarding his films, Gabbai said: "It's an important film because she is a public figure, a senator of the Republic, and so it's important that a film like this, with a person who lived such a unique life, could, let's say, be seen by the general public".
