Francesco Falaschi, born in Grosseto, won the 1999 David di Donatello for Best Short Film for Quasi fratelli; in 2003, he was nominated for a David di Donatello and a Nastro d’argento for Best New Director for his first feature-length film Emma sono io.
Falaschi stated: even if Quanto basta is more a film about friendship than cooking, it is through food that the two find common ground. I feel a continuity with other works of mine, primarily Emma sono io, in which diversity (in that case bipolarism), becomes a resource and upends the relationship of one who helps and one that is helped.
