PLOT: In 1950 Buie d'Istria is a "no man's land", a place of painful fractures. In that year a new movie theatre is opened in the village. In the following decades it will become the main meeting place for Italians and Yugoslavians, it will represent the symbol of a possible rebirth, of a better future.

Alessio Bozzer, born in Trieste, graduated from the Politecnico of Milano. In 2004 he co-founded the Terredarte association, for which he curates and organizes exhibitions and events. Since 2006 he has worked as the producer and director for Videoest of Trieste. In 2013, his first feature documentary debuted Why a film about Michele De Lucchi.

Regardubg his film Nuovo Cinema Buie, Bozzer said: "the theme is life in a small community during the ’50s to the‘70s. In the background is the ‘big history’ of the exodus and the birth of a new Europe. But this is also the story of a movie theatre, not only as a physical space but as an collective imagination."
