PLOT: When an accident forces him to bed, an elderly renowned architect asks his only daughter, Francesca, to help him with the renovation of a lakeside villa. Francesca quit the family firm a long time ago to move to Paris, but she decides to accept to please her father and starts working with his most trusted partner, charming Massimo. As the renovation of the villa progresses, the feeling between the couple builds and when Manfredi suddenly passes away, Francesca and Massimo will finally face the true feelings they have for each other.

Paolo Franchi was born in Bergamo. He won the Golden Globe award for Best First Feature for La spettatrice and Best Director for Nessuna qualità agli eroi.

Regarding his film, Franchi stated "I wanted to shoot a portrait of a woman, to tell about the conflicts, to stage love and feelings, and above all the fear of experiencing them, the emotional state of those who watch their lives go by, of those who do not take the trains that pass in front of them."
